Visiting
Marino Ballena National Park is open to visitors and protects both the marine and coastal areas. The famous whale-tail formation is walkable at low tide.

The park typically opens daily from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Tides affect access to the whale-tail formation, so a tide chart is handy.
Photography
Photography for personal use is allowed throughout the park. Drones are generally not permitted to protect wildlife and visitors.
Time needed
Allow two to three hours for the beach and the whale-tail formation. For birdwatching and snorkeling, plan extra time.

Nearby beaches of Uvita and Dominical offer additional activities. A whale-watching boat tour during the season is highly recommended.
Getting there
The park is about 15 km south of Dominical along the coastal road. It is best reached by rental car or local bus.
