Negril is a widely dispersed town located on the western tip of Jamaica, spanning parts of Westmoreland and Hanover parishes. It is famous for its laid-back atmosphere, spectacular sunsets, and two distinct geographical features: the world-renowned Seven Mile Beach and the dramatic West End Cliffs. The beach, which is actually closer to four miles long, features fine white sand and calm, turquoise waters. The cliffs to the west are known for Rick's Café, a legendary spot where daredevils cliff dive and tourists admire the sunset. Unlike other tourist centers, Negril has a building code stating that no building can be taller than the tallest palm tree, which helps preserve its natural charm. The Negril Lighthouse, built in 1894, is a historic landmark, and inland lies the Great Morass, a large wetland that is a vital ecosystem.
The most pleasant time to visit is Jan–Mar.

Stretching along the scenic west coast of Jamaica near Negril, the famous Seven Mile Beach unfolds. This seemingly endless sandy beach is the heart of the local beach culture, offering pure Caribbean flair. The clear water is perfectly suited for extensive swimming and relaxing on the soft sand. It is well worth staying until evening to watch the magnificent colors over the sea.
