Ocho Rios, located on Jamaica's north coast in the parish of Saint Ann, has transformed from a sleepy fishing village into one of the country's foremost cruise ship ports and tourist hubs. Its name is a British corruption of the Spanish 'Las Chorreras' (the waterfalls), not 'Eight Rivers' as the name mistakenly suggests. The area's main attraction is the world-famous Dunn's River Falls, a series of terraced waterfalls that visitors can climb with the help of guides. Other popular destinations include the Mystic Mountain adventure park, offering a bobsled ride, ziplining, and a chairlift with panoramic views, and Dolphin Cove, where one can swim with dolphins. The area was also a filming location for the first James Bond film, 'Dr. No', in 1962, which helped cement its international fame.
