Maskall is a historic village located in the Belize District of Belize, situated along the Old Northern Highway. Historically known as Maskall Bank, the settlement’s roots date back to the colonial era of British Honduras, when it served as a vital station for the extraction and transport of mahogany and logwood via the Northern River. Geographically, the village lies approximately thirty-eight miles north of Belize City, surrounded by fertile tropical broadleaf forests that support a robust agricultural economy. Today, Maskall remains a predominantly Creole community where residents are primarily engaged in the cultivation of citrus fruits and vegetables, as well as small-scale livestock farming. Its strategic position on the transit route to the ancient Maya archaeological site of Altun Ha has facilitated a modest growth in local services and tourism-related activity. Educational needs are served by the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Primary School, which has been a cornerstone of the community for decades. As of the 2022 population estimates, the village is home to approximately 1,260 inhabitants, reflecting a steady demographic expansion.
