Getting there
Cronstadt Island is accessible by boat from Chaguaramas; tours are often offered as 'Down the Islands' excursions. It is recommended to book a spot on an organized charter boat.

The dry season is the best time for a visit to ensure calm waters for the crossing and for snorkeling. During the rainy season, underwater visibility may decrease due to runoff.
Terrain & paths
The small island is rocky with some steep sections and limited flat areas by the water. The shoreline is partly made of jagged rocks that require sturdy footwear for disembarking.
What to bring
Bring snorkeling gear and water shoes to safely explore the underwater world and the rocky shores. A waterproof bag for valuables is very useful on the boat and near the water.
