Weather…

Ludwigshafen am Rhein is home to the world's largest integrated chemical complex, the headquarters of BASF SE. Founded in 1865 as the Badische Anilin- & Soda-Fabrik, the company has significantly shaped the city's structure and regional economy for over 150 years. Within an area of approximately ten square kilometres, there are over 2,000 buildings and about 100 kilometres of paved roads, forming a complex industrial ecosystem. A central feature is the 'Verbund' principle, where production plants, energy flows, and infrastructure are intelligently networked to minimize waste and increase efficiency. The site benefits massively from its location directly on the Rhine, which serves as the most important transport route for raw materials and finished products. Today, the plant employs over 39,000 people and stands as a global centre for research and development in the chemical industry.
