Little Corn Island (Nicaragua)

Weather…

Little Corn Island is a small, idyllic island in the Caribbean Sea, located about 15 kilometers north of Big Corn Island and 70 kilometers off the Nicaraguan coast. With an area of less than 3 square kilometers, it is known for its pristine nature and the total absence of motorized vehicles, which guarantees exceptional tranquility. The island is surrounded by coral reefs that are among the best-preserved in the western Caribbean, hosting a rich marine fauna including nurse sharks and rays. Historically, like its larger neighbor, the island was a base for British mariners and later became a center for coconut exports. The local population consists mainly of Nicaraguan Creoles who speak English Creole. Its geography is characterized by rolling hills, dense palm groves, and white sandy beaches. In recent decades, Little Corn Island has become a lesser-known spot for divers and nature lovers, with a strong focus on ecological sustainability.
