The Rhododendron Park Bremen covers an area of approximately 46 hectares in the Horn-Lehe district and is recognized as one of the most significant botanical collections of its kind worldwide. Established in 1933, it now houses over 600 distinct species and around 3,500 cultivated varieties of the Rhododendron and Azalea genera. A central feature of the grounds is the Botanika science center, which opened in 2003 to showcase Asian flora and promote global biodiversity through interactive exhibits. The park serves as both a center for botanical research and a popular recreational area for the general public. The peak visiting season occurs between April and June, when the vast array of flowers is in full bloom. In addition to its botanical significance, the site includes extensive lawns, ponds, and a large rose garden. The maintenance of the collection is managed by a dedicated foundation in close cooperation with the city of Bremen.
The most pleasant time to visit is Jun–Aug.
