BMW Welt in Munich, located directly adjacent to the Olympic Park, opened in October 2007 and serves as a combined exhibition, delivery, and experience center for the automaker BMW. The futuristic architecture was designed by the Vienna-based firm Coop Himmelb(l)au and is characterized by its striking steel and glass double cone and a seemingly floating cloud-like roof. The roof features a photovoltaic system with 3,660 solar modules that cover part of the building's energy requirements. The neighboring BMW Museum, which opened in its characteristic 'museum bowl' in 1973, complements the ensemble by providing a historical perspective on the company's history. Visitors to BMW Welt can view the latest vehicle models from all corporate brands, take part in plant tours, or experience vehicle delivery in an exclusive setting. With over three million visitors annually, the complex is one of Bavaria's most visited attractions and stands as a symbol of modern architecture and engineering.
The most pleasant time to visit is Jun–Aug.
