Water temperature…
Located in the Tecapa-Chinameca mountain range within the Usulután Department, Berlín is one of El Salvador's most pretty highland towns. Founded in 1885 by Don Serafín Brennen, a resident of German origin, the town was named after the German capital to honor his heritage. Its high altitude, approximately 1,020 meters above sea level, provides a cool temperate climate that is good for the production of high-quality highland coffee. The town played a crucial role during the coffee boom of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, which is reflected in the remaining wooden architecture of that era. In 1951, Berlín suffered significant damage during a major earthquake but was subsequently rebuilt, maintaining its grid-like urban structure. Visitors are often drawn to the nearby Tecapa Volcano and the Alegria Lagoon, as well as the geothermal power plants that utilize the region's volcanic activity.
