Celestial Park Forest is a protected woodland area located in the Arima region of Trinidad, forming an integral part of the Northern Range ecosystem. This lush tropical rainforest is celebrated for its immense biodiversity and serves as a vital watershed for the surrounding valleys and lowlands. The park's terrain is characterized by steep slopes and deep ravines, dominated by a dense canopy of mahogany, teak, and indigenous species like the Mora tree. Historically, the area was associated with cocoa production during the colonial era, but it was later designated for conservation in the 20th century to mitigate soil erosion and preserve natural habitats. Hiking trails wind through the forest, offering glimpses of exotic birdlife, including the Blue-crowned Motmot and various hummingbird species. The high humidity and cooler temperatures of the high-altitude forest provide a unique microclimate that supports rare orchids and amphibians, making it a key site for environmental study.
