Englishman's Bay is widely regarded as one of Tobago’s most secluded and pristine coastal gems, located on the rugged northern coast between Castara and Parlatuvier. The bay is a quintessential example of an untouched tropical paradise, where the dense rainforest of the Main Ridge extends directly to the crescent-shaped golden sand beach. Historically, the bay served as a secluded anchorage for English naval and merchant vessels, which eventually gave the site its name. Geographically, the deep horseshoe shape of the bay provides sheltered waters that are exceptionally clear, making it a premier location for swimming and snorkeling. There is virtually no permanent residential or commercial development on the shoreline, which has helped preserve its raw natural beauty. The area is a vital sanctuary for diverse birdlife, including frigatebirds and parrots, and serves as a nesting ground for endangered sea turtles.
