Flanagin Town is a historic village located in the Central Range of Trinidad, named after a former British warden of the district. Its elevated position gives the village a cooler and more temperate climate compared to the humid coastal lowlands. Historically, Flanagin Town was a vital stop on the island's railway network, serving as a transit point for cocoa and sugar being transported from inland estates to the port in Port of Spain. Although the railway is no longer operational, the village's layout and some of its older structures still reflect its colonial-era significance. Today, the town serves as a hub for nearby cocoa farmers and features sweeping views of the surrounding forested hills. The community takes great pride in its heritage and the role it played in the development of Trinidad's 20th-century infrastructure. It remains a key landmark for travelers exploring the interior of the island.
