The Sibiu Zoo, located in the scenic Dumbrava Forest, is the oldest zoological garden in Romania, with a history dating back to 1929. The zoo was established around a beautiful recreational lake, offering an authentic natural setting that harmoniously integrates enclosures with the surrounding woodland. It is famous for its 600-year-old oak tree standing at the entrance, a silent witness to the region's long history. The zoo houses a diverse collection of species, from majestic lions and tigers to playful primates and exotic birds. Visitors can even enjoy boat rides on the lake, providing a unique perspective of the animal habitats. Its proximity to the ASTRA Open-Air Museum makes it a central piece of Sibiu's cultural and recreational landscape.
