El Tuma - La Dalia is a dynamic municipality in the Matagalpa Department, recognized as one of the most critical coffee-producing regions in Nicaragua. The municipality was formed through the merger of two distinct settlements and is situated amidst a spectacular mountainous landscape covered in lush vegetation. Geographically, the area is characterized by heavy rainfall and cool temperatures, which support the existence of cloud forests and an extraordinary range of biodiversity. The local economy is almost entirely dominated by export-quality coffee, with the landscape defined by both large estates and small family-run farms. The region is home to several major protected areas, including the El Macizo de Peñas Blancas reserve, famous for its majestic waterfalls and sheer cliffs. Historically, the area has undergone rapid development over the last 50 years, transforming from an isolated jungle territory into a highly productive agricultural powerhouse. Today, La Dalia serves as a hub for agro-tourism, where visitors can witness the entire coffee production process within a pristine natural environment.
