Masatepe is an animated city in the Masaya Department and is part of the scenic "Pueblos Blancos" (White Villages) located on the Meseta de los Pueblos plateau. Geographically, it sits at an elevation of approximately 450 meters, favoring a pleasant climate. The city is nationwide famous for two things in particular: its excellent gastronomy, especially the tripe soup known as "Sopa de Mondongo," and its high-quality wooden furniture production. Culturally, Masatepe is deeply rooted in religious traditions, with Holy Week celebrations featuring the "Encadenados" (chained ones), representing the betrayal of Judas, being among the most unique in the country.
