Talanga is a town in Francisco Morazán Department, located about 60 km northeast of Tegucigalpa in a wide plain ringed by hills and small rivers. It works as a major service stop along the highway that links the capital with Olancho and Yoro departments. Its economy is traditionally built on sugarcane fields, brick kilns, corn and bean farming and cattle ranching, with small commerce and trucking growing rapidly. Central streets and the market are usually busy as truck drivers, commuters and farmers converge on the town. Outside the center, the landscape opens onto grazing land, crop fields and scattered villages. Talanga is a clear example of a central-Honduran provincial town where agriculture, logistics and everyday rural commerce overlap.
