Weather…

Bostalsee in the Sankt Wendel region is the largest leisure lake in southwestern Germany and a central tourist attraction in Saarland. It was artificially created to strengthen the region's tourism potential and covers a water surface of about 120 hectares. The damming of the Bos and Rohrbach streams took place between 1975 and 1979, resulting in a versatile recreation area. The lake is embedded in the hilly forest landscape of the Saar-Hunsrück Nature Park and features good conditions for water sports enthusiasts such as sailors and surfers. Since motorboats are not permitted on the lake, the water is characterized by high ecological quality and tranquility. A circular trail about 7 kilometers long runs around the lake and is equally valued by hikers and cyclists. With two large beaches, a modern holiday park, and numerous camping facilities, Bostalsee is a significant destination for families and active vacationers from across the larger region.
