Originally established as the Berlin Garden Show, the site has evolved into a 43-hectare park showcasing garden art from various cultures and eras. Notable sections include the Chinese Garden, the largest of its kind in Europe, as well as the Japanese, Korean, and Oriental gardens. Each area was designed by experts from the respective countries of origin, ensuring high authenticity in plant selection and architecture. In 2017, the park hosted the International Garden Exhibition (IGA), which saw the construction of a cable car providing aerial views over the Kienberg area. Beyond botanical diversity, the gardens offer numerous playgrounds, a maze, and ceremony houses, making it a significant cultural meeting point and recreational area for residents and tourists alike.
