The Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart opened on May 19, 2006, and is the only museum in the world that can document the uninterrupted history of the automotive industry from its inception to the present day. The building's striking architecture, designed by the Dutch firm UNStudio, is based on a double-helix concept, enabling a barrier-free tour across nine levels. Spanning an exhibition area of 16,500 square meters, it showcases approximately 160 vehicles and more than 1,500 exhibits. The journey begins on the top floor with the invention of the automobile by Carl Benz and Gottlieb Daimler in 1886 and leads visitors along two spiral paths through the brand's and global history. The structure itself is regarded as a technical masterpiece, constructed using 110,000 tons of concrete with not a single straight wall in the entire design. In addition to historical vehicles, the museum also focuses on future technologies and ecological mobility concepts, making it a pivotal site for technology enthusiasts.
