Reutlingen is a major city in Baden-Württemberg located at the foot of the Swabian Jura, often referred to as the 'Gateway to the Alb.' As a former Free Imperial City, it has a rich textile heritage that significantly shaped its urban landscape and economic growth. A unique world-record feature is Spreuerhofstraße, which, according to Guinness World Records, is the narrowest street in the world, measuring only 31 centimeters at its narrowest point. The architectural landmark of the city is St. Mary's Church (Marienkirche), a masterpiece of High Gothic architecture rebuilt after the great city fire of 1726. Today, Reutlingen is a prominent educational and economic center, featuring an internationally focused university of applied sciences and numerous companies in mechanical and electrical engineering. The city is situated within the UNESCO Swabian Jura Biosphere Reserve, making it a convenient starting point for hiking and nature exploration. The combination of historical charm, urban quality of life, and proximity to nature defines its unique character.
