The day starts at the central Market Square, where the famous pyramid stands. From there, the path leads directly to the magnificent Baroque palace, the center of the city's fan layout. After the tour, the adjacent Botanical Garden invites you to linger among its exotic plants. At noon, explore the artistic treasures of the State Art Gallery before enjoying a typical Baden lunch in the busy Kaiserstraße. The afternoon is dedicated to the Zoological City Garden, a unique combination of a zoo and a magnificent park. The evening ends comfortably with a stroll by the lake.
Karlsruhe is a city of bicycles! We start at the palace and cycle through the palace gardens to the Botanical Garden. Then we head east to the Renaissance Gottesaue Palace, an architectural gem. The highlight of the midday is the ride to Durlach and the climb to Turmberg. You will be rewarded with a wide view over the Rhine valley to the Vosges mountains. After a cozy lunch in the historical old town of Durlach, the tour leads across the city to the west to ZKM. In this former munitions factory, you will experience state-of-the-art media art before the day ends.
By car, we explore Karlsruhe in three clusters. First, we park in the center and visit the Market Square, the palace, and the Botanical Garden conveniently on foot. This way, we experience the historical center stress-free. Then, a short drive leads to the ZKM in the west of the city. This world-leading media museum offers fascinating insights into the digital world. Right next door, we enjoy a hearty lunch. The conclusion is the drive to Durlach up the Turmberg. The parking lot there allows quick access to the viewpoint, from which you have the perfect view over the entire region.
