Queen's Park Savannah (Trinidad and Tobago)

Weather…

Queen's Park Savannah is the largest open green space in Port of Spain, covering approximately 110 hectares (260 acres), and is famously known as the world's largest roundabout. Originally a sugar plantation owned by the Peschier family, the land was purchased by the town council in 1817 to be preserved as a public park. Today, the Savannah serves as the cultural epicentre of Trinidad, particularly during the annual Carnival season when the 'Big Stage' hosts major competitions and parades. The perimeter of the park is lined with the 'Magnificent Seven,' a row of grand colonial-era mansions built around 1900 that showcase diverse European architectural styles. The park also borders the Royal Botanic Gardens and the Emperor Valley Zoo. Its vast grassy expanses are used daily for cricket, football, and jogging, making it the most vital recreational hub in the capital.
