Lingen

Lingen is the largest town in the Emsland district, situated directly on the banks of the Ems River, not far from the Dutch border. The town looks back on over a thousand years of history, which is clearly reflected in the architecture of its historic center. The focal point is the lively market square featuring the Historic Town Hall built in 1555, an eye-catching building characterized by its stepped gable and a carillon that plays hourly.
