Berlin Botanical Garden (Germany)

Weather…

The Berlin Botanical Garden in Dahlem is one of the world's largest and most significant botanical institutions, spanning over 43 hectares and housing around 22,000 plant species. Constructed between 1897 and 1910 under the direction of Adolf Engler, the garden was designed with the ambitious goal of representing 'the world in a garden.' A standout feature is the Great Pavilion (Großes Tropenhaus), an architecturally impressive steel-and-glass structure that remains one of the tallest greenhouses globally. The grounds are organized into various geographical sections, displaying plant formations from across the globe in their natural ecological contexts. In addition to the display greenhouses, the site includes a major Botanical Museum, the only one of its kind in Central Europe. The garden functions not only as a place of recreation but also as a vital research facility for the Free University of Berlin. Its historic landscaping, combined with the scientific depth of its collection, establishes the garden as a monument of international prestige.
