Concepción de Ataco, often simply called Ataco, is a pretty town located in the highlands of the Ahuachapán Department and a crown jewel of the Ruta de las Flores. Founded in the 16th century by Pipil Indians, Ataco has preserved much of its original charm, featuring cobblestone streets and quaint architecture.
