Rincón Beach (Dominican Republic)

Weather…

Playa Rincón is situated on the northern coast of the Samaná Peninsula, near the village of Las Galeras in the northeastern Dominican Republic. This pristine coastal stretch extends for approximately four kilometers and is divided into several bays sheltered by the steep cliffs of Cabo Cabrón. Geographically, the beach is defined by the meeting of white coral sand and the clear waters of the Atlantic Ocean. At the western end of the beach, the Caño Frío, a small freshwater river originating from nearby limestone formations, flows into the sea, creating a cool natural pool. The hinterland vegetation consists of dense coconut palm groves and remnants of tropical rainforest. Playa Rincón has been frequently ranked among the top ten most beautiful beaches in the world by international travel media, yet it maintains a wild character due to its remote location and the absence of large hotel developments. Access is typically via unpaved roads or by boat from Las Galeras.
