The city's cultural attractions include the Cleveland Museum of Art, one of the finest encyclopedic museums in the U.S., and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Playhouse Square is the largest performing arts center outside of New York City. Cleveland is also known for its sports teams: the Guardians (MLB), Browns (NFL), and Cavaliers (NBA). The Cuyahoga River fire in 1969 spurred the Clean Water Act. The population of Cleveland proper was about 373,000 in 2020, with a metro area of over 2 million.
