SOMACA (Société Marocaine de Constructions Automobiles) in Casablanca is the cradle of the Moroccan automotive industry. Founded in 1959, it was the most important player in the country's motorization for decades and laid the foundation for Morocco's current industrial success. Today, SOMACA is majority-owned by the Renault Group and specializes in the production of Dacia models such as the Logan and Sandero.
