Wes is a historic field name and residential area in the upper part of the municipality of Planken in Liechtenstein. Geographically, the area is situated at the transition from the settled village area to the steeply rising mountain forests at the foot of the Drei Schwestern. The architecture is shaped by the hillside location, with modern buildings increasingly complementing traditional agricultural structures. Historically, Wes was significant for the municipality's water supply, as several small springs were captured here. The surroundings are characterized by species-rich mountain meadows that display a magnificent flora in spring. For hikers, Wes represents an important junction, as the paths to the Gafadura Hut and the summit ridge branch off here. The view extends from Gutenberg Castle in the south to far beyond the national border in the north. Due to the small size of the municipality of Planken, Wes is closely integrated into the social and cultural life of the mountain village.
