Saimaluu Tash (Kyrgyzstan)

Weather…

Saimaluu Tash is one of the world's most significant petroglyph sites, located in the Fergana Range of Kyrgyzstan at an altitude exceeding 3000 meters. The archaeological site contains more than 10,000 rock carvings that span a period from the Neolithic and Bronze Age to the early Middle Ages. Due to the severe mountain climate, the site is accessible only during the brief summer months of July and August when the snow recedes. The engravings depict a wide variety of motifs, including hunting scenes, religious rituals, chariots, and various animals such as ibex and horses. These petroglyphs provide essential insights into the spiritual beliefs and daily activities of early nomadic tribes in Central Asia. The remote location has played a crucial role in preserving these ancient artworks, which are now protected as a vital part of Kyrgyzstan's national cultural heritage.
