Water temperature…
Cortals d'Encamp is a vast high-altitude valley in the parish of Encamp, stretching between 1,800 and 2,100 meters above sea level. This region is primarily known for its spectacular mountain scenery and as a key access point to the Grandvalira ski area via the Funicamp gondola. Historically, the valley was a significant grazing ground, dotted with traditional stone huts known as 'bordes', some of which have been converted into holiday homes or restaurants. The area features the Rigoder lake and serves as a starting point for numerous hiking trails leading to the Pessons lakes or the Pic alt del Griu summit. For climbers, the nearby rock faces and via ferrata routes are a major draw. The modern accessibility provided by the Funicamp has made Cortals d'Encamp a year-round destination for outdoor enthusiasts. The flora is characterized by alpine meadows and rhododendrons, while chamois are frequently spotted in the rocky heights. Climatic conditions are harsh, with consistent snow cover from December through April.
