The municipality of Tecuci received non-reimbursable funding for the rehabilitation of its water, sewerage, and rainwater infrastructure. The project aims to modernize the utility networks across several planned streets in the city.
A major project was launched to increase non-polluting urban mobility through smart solutions along the North-South corridor in Tecuci. The investment is funded through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).
Tecuci is a historic municipality in Galați County, widely recognized across Romania for its long-standing tradition in mustard production, which remains a cornerstone of the local identity. The town's history stretches back to the 15th century when it served as a vital commercial crossroads between the provinces of Moldavia and Wallachia. Walking through the town center, visitors can admire late 19th-century architecture, particularly the Teodor Cincu History Museum, which is housed in a beautifully restored manor. Tecuci is situated in the fertile lowlands of southern Moldavia, a location that has historically supported its role as a regional agricultural and trade center. Beyond its industrial reputation, the town gives a quiet, cultural atmosphere with well-maintained public gardens. It serves as an excellent example of a traditional Moldavian market town that has successfully modernized while preserving its architectural heritage.
