Hinter-Prufatscheng is a historic hamlet and one of the oldest Walser settlements in the municipality of Triesenberg, Liechtenstein. Situated at an elevation of approximately 1100 meters, the site represents the traditional scattered settlement pattern characteristic of the Walser migration in the late Middle Ages. The architecture is defined by sun-drenched wooden houses and barns, many of which are several centuries old and under heritage protection. Geographically, Hinter-Prufatscheng provides spectacular views across the Rhine Valley, extending as far as Lake Constance on clear days. Residents originally lived almost exclusively on mountain farming, which required the development of steep hay meadows and small arable plots. Today, the hamlet is a valued residential area for those seeking seclusion and cultural heritage. It lies on the ancient connecting route between Triesenberg and the Silum alpine pasture, making it a significant point for cultural-historical hiking.
