One of its most noted pieces is the memorial to Rosa Palmer, the legendary figure of Rose Hall. The church is surrounded by a peaceful, shaded graveyard containing the tombs of wealthy planters and historical figures from the 18th and 19th centuries. Despite suffering heavy damage during a 1957 earthquake, it was meticulously restored to its original splendor, continuing to serve as a spiritual sanctuary and a proud symbol of the parish’s colonial heritage.
