Weather…

The Benedictine Archabbey of Pannonhalma is one of the most important spiritual and religious centers in Hungarian history, founded in 996 by Prince Géza. The building complex, part of the UNESCO World Heritage, rises on Saint Martin's Hill and combines various architectural styles from Romanesque to Neoclassical. The archabbey's library preserves more than 400,000 volumes, including the 1055 founding charter of Tihany Abbey, the first surviving written record of the Hungarian language. The monks continue their educational activities today in the prestigious Benedictine high school, as well as their traditions in winemaking and herb cultivation. Visitors can explore the basilica, the cloister, and the herbal garden, which preserves centuries of monastic knowledge. The abbey is a symbol of the continuity of Christian Europe and Hungarian statehood.
