Center of Scientific Wonders (Hungary)

Weather…

The Palace of Wonders (Csodák Palotája) is the first interactive science center in Central and Eastern Europe, located in Budapest. Established in 1993 through the initiative of the Eötvös Loránd Physical Society and inspired by the legacy of Professor József Öveges, the center aims to make natural sciences accessible through hands-on experimentation. Spanning several thousand square meters, the facility features over 250 interactive exhibits that demonstrate physical laws, optical illusions, and logical challenges. One of the highlights is the Öveges Auditorium, which hosts spectacular live science shows where complex physical and chemical processes are explained through engaging demonstrations. The institution has occupied several locations during its history and is currently situated in a modern complex in the Óbuda district. In addition to the permanent exhibition, the center provides themed areas focused on astronomy, magnetism, and biology, alongside logic-based escape rooms. It is a key venue for non-formal education and a top destination for families and school excursions.
