In 2021, the park was reopened following extensive modernization efforts, which added new adventure tourism facilities such as zip lines, rappelling, and climbing walls. Beyond its recreational appeal, the park serves as a vital biological corridor for numerous species, including iguanas, white-tailed deer, and a diverse array of migratory birds. Its flora features prominent tree species like cedar and amate, which are characteristic of this specific climatic zone.
