Mas d'Alins is a small, historic hamlet in the parish of Sant Julià de Lòria, situated directly on the border between Andorra and Spain. The settlement is an outstanding example of traditional Andorran mountain architecture, with buildings constructed primarily from local slate stone and timber. Historically, Mas d'Alins was closely linked to agriculture and tobacco production, which formed the economic backbone of the region for centuries. Due to its border location, the site also played a role in trade routes and smuggling paths across the Pyrenees in the past. Today, the hamlet is largely peaceful and is often visited by hikers using the GR-7 long-distance trail, which passes through this area. The surroundings of Mas d'Alins are characterized by terraced fields, bearing witness to the hard labor of previous generations, and offer wide views toward the Spanish mountains of Cerdanya.
