What is this place?
This plant is one of the main production facilities of the Uruguayan dairy cooperative Conaprole, which supplies the country with dairy products. It processes millions of liters of milk daily into cheese, yogurt and powder.
Visiting
The plant is usually not open to visitors, but there is a connected visitor center that features insights by prior appointment. The exterior is clearly visible from the access road.
Where to view it
The best public view of the plant is from Ruta 5, where you can see the large silos and production halls. A field road on the opposite side allows a closer look at the truck traffic.

In the supermarkets of the Florida region, all Conaprole products are available, including the famous Queso Colonial and Dulce de Leche. Seasonal dairy products like fresh ricotta are especially popular in spring.
