Vadu Crișului Waterfall (Romania)

Weather…

The Vadu Crișului Waterfall is located in the Pădurea Craiului Mountains, elegantly dropping its waters directly into the Crișul Repede River. The waterfall stands approximately 9 meters high and is fed by a karst spring emerging from the nearby Vadu Crișului Cave. The site has been a popular tourist destination since 1905, coinciding with the construction of the railway line through the river's gorge, which provided easy access to the remote area. The cave from which the water flows was discovered in 1903 and was one of the first in Romania to be developed for tourism, featuring a total length of 2.7 kilometers. Today, the area is a protected nature reserve, significant for its limestone rock formations and as a habitat for various protected bat species. It is easily reachable by train, with a dedicated railway stop nearby.
