Škoda Auto Mladá Boleslav Plant (Czech Republic)

Weather…

The Škoda Auto main plant in Mladá Boleslav is the industrial heart of the Czech Republic and one of the oldest continuously operating automotive manufacturing sites in the world. The company was founded in 1895 by Václav Laurin and Václav Klement, initially as a bicycle repair shop named Laurin & Klement. By 1905, the first automobile, the Voiturette A, left the factory, marking the beginning of an era of industrial growth. In 1925, the company merged with the Pilsen-based Škoda Works, leading to the adoption of the Škoda brand name. Today, the facility spans a massive area and includes state-of-the-art production lines for vehicles, engines, and gearboxes. The plant serves as a model for the transition from traditional manufacturing to modern electromobility, with the production of the all-electric Enyaq iV representing a significant milestone. The complex also features the Škoda Museum, which documents the brand's 125-year history. As the region's largest employer, the plant fundamentally shapes the economic and social fabric of Mladá Boleslav.
