Animal habitat
Zoo Liberec was officially established in 1919, making it the oldest zoological garden in the Czech Republic and former Czechoslovakia. Spanning approximately 13 hectares of hilly terrain, the zoo provides a habitat for around 160 animal species from across the globe, with a strong commitment to biodiversity conservation. It gained international fame primarily for its breeding of rare white tigers, which have been a major attraction and a local icon since 1994. Zoo Liberec is open year-round, but the best time for animal watching is spring when animals become active after winter and many young are visible. Autumn also gives good conditions with pleasant temperatures.

Please stick to the paths and do not climb over fences to avoid disturbing the animals. Feeding the animals is prohibited as they receive a special diet.
