Established in 1998, Phrumsengla National Park is located in central Bhutan and covers an area of 905 square kilometers. The park is renowned for its spectacular, extensive fir and rhododendron forests, which are among the best-preserved in the Himalayas. In spring, over 68 species of rhododendrons transform the hillsides into a bustling sea of color. The park serves as a vital biological corridor connecting the country's northern and southern protected areas. Its altitude ranges from under 1,000 meters to over 4,000 meters, creating a high diversity of habitats. The fauna is rich, including species like the red panda, clouded leopard, and various species of deer. With over 340 recorded bird species, including rare ones like the blood pheasant and satyr tragopan, the park is a significant destination for birdwatchers.
