Independence Hall (United States)

Weather…

Independence Hall is a historic Georgian-style brick building in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, widely revered as the absolute birthplace of the United States. Originally constructed in 1753 to serve as the Pennsylvania State House, it became the primary meeting place for the Second Continental Congress. It is within the walls of the modest Assembly Room that the Founding Fathers rigorously debated and ultimately adopted the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. Eleven years later, in the humid summer of 1787, delegates reconvened in the exact same room to draft and sign the United States Constitution. Today, it forms the centerpiece of the Independence National Historical Park. History K8 — the founding documents of the United States.
