Under the command of Prince Eugene of Savoy, Imperial forces decisively defeated the Ottoman army, paving the way for the Treaty of Karlowitz and the end of Ottoman rule in Central Europe. The city's architecture is characterized by the Hungarian Secession style, with the Town Hall (Városháza) and its 50-meter tower serving as the most prominent landmark. The day ends comfortably in a cafe near the bridge, watching the rain over the river.
