The authorities in Buftea have relocated and restored a second traditional house to preserve the local vernacular architecture. The project transforms the park into a space dedicated to promoting the cultural heritage and traditions of Ilfov County.
PPC Energie announced the permanent closure of its Buftea branch starting May 15, 2026. Customers are advised to use digital channels or other nearby centers for utility payments and support services.

Buftea is a city in Ilfov County, located 20 kilometers northwest of Bucharest, recognized as the main hub of the film industry in Romania. The Buftea Studios, established in 1950, are the place where the most famous Romanian films came to life, offering elite technical infrastructure for large-scale international productions. Historically and culturally, the city hosts the Stirbey Palace, an impressive noble residence built in the neo-Gothic style in the mid-19th century, surrounded by a centuries-old park and an easy on the eye lake formed by the Colentina River. Buftea was declared a city in 1968, constantly evolving due to its strategic position on the Bucharest-Ploiești railway main line. Today, the locality combines industrial and cultural functions with a residential role, being a sought-after area for its tranquility and rapid access to the capital's facilities, while preserving the charm of settlements on the banks of the Ilfov lakes.
