Slănic Moldova
Slănic Moldova is a photogenic balneoclimateric resort in Bacău County, situated in a narrow valley at the foot of the Nemira Mountains. The locality became famous in the early 19th century following the discovery of the first mineral water springs in 1801. Nicknamed the "Pearl of Moldavia," the resort is internationally recognized for its more than 20 mineral springs, their chemical composition often compared to those of Karlovy Vary or Vichy. The architecture of the resort is impressive, highlighted by the historic Casino, built in 1894 in an eclectic style, which is now the symbol of the town. The mountain climate, with highly ionized air, complements the drinking cures and therapeutic baths, making the resort well-suited for treating digestive and respiratory disorders. Visitors can enjoy the central park with its waterfalls or the "300 stairs" trail, which provides panoramic views of the mountain peaks. Slănic Moldova remains a destination that blends balneary tradition with modern relaxation facilities.
