Port

What is this place?
Maasvlakte 2 is a massive land-reclamation expansion of the Port of Rotterdam. It houses highly automated container terminals and is considered one of the most advanced port projects in Europe.
Visiting
The terminal area is strictly off-limits to the public due to high security. However, good views of the massive cranes and container stacks can be obtained from nearby beaches or the 'FutureLand' visitor centre.

An excellent viewpoint is the 'FutureLand' pavilion, located right at the edge of the port. The dunes along the Nieuwe Waterweg also offer a wide panoramic view of the state-of-the-art port facilities.
