Birkahof is a significant agricultural farm and a small settlement core in the municipality of Mauren, in the Unterland region of Liechtenstein. It is positioned in the vast moorland landscapes between Mauren and Schaan and is known for its pioneering role in the modern, sustainable agriculture of the Principality. The farm includes not only stables and arable fields but also serves as a hub for local products and agricultural innovation. Geographically, Birkahof is located in a very flat zone defined by the network of drainage canals in the Maurer Riet. Historically, the development of the site is closely linked to state-sponsored land reclamation, which massively increased agricultural production in the Unterland from the 1940s onwards. Today, Birkahof is also a destination for families and school classes wanting to learn more about the origin of food. The rural idyll is complemented by the surrounding pastures and views of the prominent Eschnerberg.
